"I’ve been involved with the BGC for more than 30 years, from Boston to Austin and Salida to Buena Vista. I love to watch the staff and volunteers work their magic at the BGC each day and have seen the Club inspire thousands of kids in so many ways."

Alison Ramsey
Finance Director and Office Manager
Her role as Finance Director for the Club couldn’t be a more perfect fit. Alison attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and completed a BA in Psychology. She returned to CU Denver for a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an elementary teaching licensure. After working in marketing and education, Alison discovered her passion for numbers while executive director for another Chaffee County-based nonprofit.
Alison is thrilled to be part of the team at BGCCC - an organization so integral to supporting youth and families in the Arkansas Valley. She balances time spent in QuickBooks by being outdoors and as active as possible. Much more of a warm weather fan, Alison loves to mountain bike, river raft and explore the desert and mountain backcountry.

I have a bachelors degree in Human Services as well as many classes in music and education. I have a passion for the outdoors as well as music. I love camping, mountain biking, hiking, live music, and I play trombone in the local orchestra. I am excited to continue my career working with children at the Boys and Girls Club here in Buena Vista!

"I first joined the BGC organization as an AmeriCorps volunteer a few years ago in Canon City after earning my bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University in Mass Communication. I have since worked with youth in several different compacities as an Academic Coach for a hybrid high school, and lastly as a Site Lead at a Boys & Girls Club in Texas. I am so excited to work with and serve the families and kids in Chaffee County. Outside of the club, you can find me stumbling up mountains, forcing my dog to get fresh air and not sleep all day, or cooking up new recipes!"

Nayava Sanchez
Front Desk
"I’m proud to be part of the Boys & Girls Club, where I get to support and connect with kids every day. I love creating a space where they feel safe, encouraged, and able to just be themselves. Being someone they can trust and look up to means a lot to me. I try to bring patience, positivity, and energy into everything I do, and it’s really rewarding to watch them grow, learn, and have fun along the way."

Irene Alvarez

“I started my club experience as a club kid in the town of Salida, CO where I was born and raised. After years of being a club member and finding my passion for art, I later moved on to becoming a club staff as the art teacher. As I have continued my journey through working with kids at the Boys & Girls Club, I have decided to study Elementary Education at the local Colorado Mountain College in hopes of continuing my career of working with kids.
Outside of the club, I am a community oriented person being a part of many other opportunities and programs. As well as, traveling around to places my Subaru takes me.”
