Thank YOU for Supporting the Kids of Chaffee County!

COLORADO CHILD CARE CONTRIBUTION TAX CREDIT

Cash contributions to Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit. The Tax Credit allows you to decrease the after-tax cost of your gift by 50% directly, possibly much more if you itemize deductions.

GUIDELINES:

  • The maximum credit you may take in any one year is $100,000 or your actual Colorado income tax liability for the year, whichever is less.

  • Any unused credit may be carried forward for up to five additional tax years.

  • Only monetary donations are eligible. Stock or other securities and in-kind gifts, such as labor or equipment, are not eligible but may qualify for other tax benefits.

  • In the case of donations associated with events, only the deductible portion of your payment, reduced by the value of goods and services received, is eligible. You will be advised of the net amount eligible for the credit.

  • Both individuals and corporations can take advantage of the credit.

Please consult your own tax advisor regarding your situation.

MORE WAYS TO GIVE:

• SPONSORSHIPS

Many corporations, foundations, and especially individuals make dedicated contributions to support programs of specific interest to them; for example, our STEM program or Healthy Habits Cooking Class. Sponsorship opportunities are available in three focus areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Character and Leadership. More than likely you’ll find something that is particularly relevant on a business, community or cultural level. Please contact director@bgcchaffee.org to sponsor a program or be an event sponsor.

• EMPLOYER OR CORPORATE MATCHING

Many companies have programs through which they will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your gift to the Club, making it go further. If you are a Sangre de Cristo Electric member, check out their matching grant program!

• DONATE STOCK

Support the Boys & Girls Clubs and save on capital gains taxes. The gift of an asset, often common stock or mutual fund shares, is a valuable way to make a contribution to a charitable organization and receive tax benefits based on the value of the asset(s). Contact director@bgcchaffee.org for more information.

• IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS

Your talent is vital to the Clubs. We need organizational support in marketing, public relations, technology, human resource management, board membership, finance/resource development, operations and facility maintenance. Contact director@bgcchaffee.org to learn more.
